3 Spooky Crafts that Make Great Keepsakes

With each passing year, kids get a little bit bigger. A fun way to capture this moment in time is through footprint and handprint crafts. We’ve rounded up a few crafts with spooky themes befitting of this time of year.

Ghostly Footprints

Materials

  • White paint
  • Black construction paper
  • Googly eyes
  • Glue
  • Thin markers

Instructions

  1. Paint the child’s foot with white paint and make a footprint on black construction paper.
  2. Once dry, glue googly eyes onto the footprint to create a ghost face.
  3. You can add a mouth and other details with a marker.

Spider Handprints

Materials

  • Black paint
  • White construction paper
  • Googly eyes
  • Paint brushes
  • Thin markers

Instructions

  1. Help your child paint or draw a spider web on the paper.
  2. Paint or place your child’s hand in black paint and make a handprint on the web.
  3. Once dry, add googly eyes to the spider.

Monster Hands

Materials

  • Colored paper (various colors)
  • Googly eyes
  • Glue
  • Thin markers

Instructions

  1. Trace your child’s hand on colored paper and cut it out.
  2. Paste the handprints to a sheet of paper.
  3. Glue googly eyes onto the fingers to make them look like monster fingers.
  4. Add other embellishments using paper or markers.
